Already have a plan for this Sunday? And do you know that next week, on the 2nd of February will be the Candlemas, the baby Jesus offering to God? Through the Candlemas, people used to go to church to consecrate candles. Such a candle was and still is widely used in custom and household.

This Sunday, we invite you to visit the museum for free and to make the candle for the Candlemas by yourself! You’ll be able to try one of the candle casting techniques, find out what kind of candles were called real, when to burn a candle, and how the peasants of the Candlemas day predicted the spring and all-year weather.

The museum will be visited for free the whole day, and the candle workshop will take place from 12 noon to 2 PM in the Museum Town, Tabariškės House. The scent of natural, hot beeswax will help you find your way!
