Open Air Museum of Lithuania has been breeding old Lithuanian breeds of horses for many years: Žemaitukai, large Žemaitukai and Lithuanian heavy draft. Currently, the museum is breeding and caring for a herd of 10 horses.
We kindly invite visitors to ride in carriages in the museum territory. This is a great entertainment not only for children, but also for adults.
Important information regarding horseback riding or horse-drawn carriage rides: if the outdoor air temperature is below -15 °C or above +27 °C, if there is bare snow or sleet, the activities are not carried out.

The horses at the Open Air Museum of Lithuania are trained and calm. Riding will be a pleasure for both those who are riding for the first time and experienced riders. We invite you to ride during a regular visit to the museum, as well as on special occasions such as birthdays, bachelorette parties, weddings or team celebrations. A riding lesson at the museum can be an unconventional and memorable gift for your loved one.

Don’t forget to dress comfortably (wear sweatpants or jeans, comfortable shoes). The most important thing is that you feel free and unconstrained.
The riding club operates in the Dirgalis homestead, where both children and adults ride. Proffesional trainer teaches how to use the saddle and get to know and love horses. Members themselves comb, saddle, and water horses. In the riding club, riders are taught to trot on horseback, jump over various obstacles, and also participate in show jumping competitions.
The riding club operates all year round and only in outdoors. We invite you to enjoy the wonderful nature of the Open Air Museum of Lithuania. Riding in the fresh air is not only a pleasant pastime, but also a great active sport that will give you vigor, energy and a lot of positive emotions.
