December is slowly coming with snowy steps… At the same time begins Advent – the most beautiful and pleasant waiting time of the year. Traditionally, it is a time of concentration, contemplation and peace, as well as preparation for the big holidays.

Come to the Open Air Museum of Lithuania in Rumšiškės to a special Advent Town, which will take place on the two weekends in December, namely on 9 and 10 December as well as on 16 and 17 December. The museum town will shine and invite everyone to an unforgettable adventure. Inside cosy houses of the museum town you will find craftsmen that have prepared plenty of activities. You will have an opportunity to tie, felt, weave or cut out an exclusive Christmas decoration for yourself or for your loved ones. Besides, gingerbread and traditional candy wrapping workshops await you.

In the bustling town square the Advent music will play. You won’t get cold with the cozy warmth of the campfire, fragrant tea and a surprising “lottery”. Do not miss the opportunity to get dried apples, cranberries, nuts and other delicacies at the market in the town square to make Christmas full. And what about fatty herring from a barrel? Fat herring – mouthwatering! Remember – you can’t be prepared for Christmas if you haven’t been to the market!

A market is a market, but you also need to feed the spirit – you will get to know meals, customs and traditions of the Christmas Eve. In addition to that, you will have a chance to make kalėdaitis, play Advent games, draw lots and learn carols together.

The Advent Town will take place in the Open Air Museum of Lithuania in Rumšiškės on 9 and 10 December as well as on 16 and 17 December from 12 PM to 5 PM.
