The Assumption day – the “Feast of the God of the Earth”
"The one who does not visit through the Assumption day, will not have happiness for life." As Father Stanislaus said, the Assumption day is the "Feast of the God of the Earth", where man sees his work yielding fruit, the garden ripens, and the forests open the baskets of goods. ⠀
ANN‘S NAME DAY AND RYE HARVESTING
Ann‘s name day is also the celebration of the ripe harvest. In the past, the hardest summer jobs were completed at that time. It is the time when the new harvest replaces the old one. Fresh bread was baked this day, so people would say, that “St. Ann is a lady of bread”.
